Where on earth..?

A peak into our travel plan

Here's a brief peak into our current travel plan of six months. I'm not going too deep into the details at the moment but I'd like to give you a general idea of the tour.

The main idea was to be able to live for a while in one place and to be able to be part of the society you're living in. From the beginning of our plan we've known that we would like to spend some time in Melbourne, Australia. So, the decision was made to reserve atleast one month in Melbourne and build the rest of the plan around this one decision.

As usual, things will not go according the original plan and for me it seems that I'll bend the first rule of our trip to make it better meet my own interests. After calculating the current dates and my intended program it seems that the six months may not provide me the opportunity to stay in Melbourne more than few weeks at most. I don't mind though. I don't have to do exactly the same things Carina is going to do and it seems that she'll be able to spend three maybe four weeks longer in Melbourne and we're quite happy about it.

Ok, back to the plan. We decided to do some traveling before settling in Melbourne and we decided to choose one location before we set our feet on Australia. After long and hard decisions we chose Philippines mainly because that's one of the places we know so little about. This is supposed to be an mind opening tour to give us new experiences, right?! After philippines it's time to get ourselves to Australia and the big plan is to follow the east coast from Brisbane to Mel. According to our plan we'll spare full two months in Australia. From here I'll skip most of the details and guide us from Mel to Christchurch, NZ.

In New Zealand we'll be staying in the south island because on our last trip we already spent some time on the northern island. I'm sure we'll be able to find something to do for the full month there. Actually we already have few plans and I'll tell you more about those later on when it is time for the details.

From NZ it is time to head to the South Pasific. Some locations we're going to explore are Tonga, Cook Islands and Fiji. This will take more or less two month of our time and give us only a brief view of the South Pasific but what can I say.. six months isn't enough.

From Fiji we'll head to the Los Angeles, US, and travel along the west coast up to San Fransisco. This is the point where I have to head back to home while Carina will continue her travels by her self for a few weeks time. I know, it aint right but someone has to make some money after this kind of a journey.


So, this was only a brief peak to our travel plan but I'll get back to it later on.
